Design in Details

The Johnsons needed a fast, comprehensive update to their 20-year-old plaster pool that had become a safety concern for their young grandchildren. The project focused on safety, durability, and creating a child-friendly environment without compromising on style.

Our Approach & Key Features

  • Non-Slip Fibreglass Relining: Applied a textured, non-slip fibreglass finish in a light blue tone for both safety and visual clarity of the pool floor.

  • Automated Safety Cover: Installed a hidden, motorised safety cover that can support weight, providing peace of mind and reducing heat loss and evaporation.

  • Shallow-End Play Area: Redesigned one end to include a gentle, graduated beach entry perfect for toddlers and less confident swimmers.

  • Fencing & Gate Integration: Worked with landscapers to seamlessly integrate new safety fencing with the existing garden design, meeting all local regulations.

  • Rapid Heating System: Added a dedicated heat pump to quickly warm the shallow area, extending the swimming season for the family.

Incredible Result

The family gained a beautiful, safe, and worry-free pool environment. The automated cover and non-slip surface directly addressed their primary concerns, while the new heating system allowed for more months of usable enjoyment. The project was completed efficiently during the school term to minimise disruption.
